Advertisement FlyerWorking closely with the Library Director and under the Library Director’s direct supervision, performs detailed paraprofessional and administrative tasks directing the activities of the Moore County Library through essentials functions such as: managing library services; coordinating work with Moore County Library Director, Regional Library Director, and other SRLS libraries; maintaining records and files; preparing reports; and other duties as assigned while following SRLS and Moore County guidelines .
• Thorough knowledge of library principles, methods, materials, and practices
• Ability to supervise the work of staff
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with library patrons, associates, and the general public
• Thorough knowledge of reader interest levels
• Thorough knowledge of books, authors, varying subject matters
• Strong IT skills
• Ability to analyze library service challenges and participate effectively in resolving/solving them
• High school diploma or equivalent from an appropriately accredited institution
and five (5) years of library related experience
OR • Associate degree from an appropriately accredited institution
and three (3) years of library related experience
OR • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution
and one (1) year of library experience
• Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
This is light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires climbing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities.
