Robbinsdale is recruiting for the position of Police Chief responsible for directing all law enforcement operations, prevention of crime, and supervising Police Department personnel. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in political science, criminal justice, public administration or related field; certified and in compliance with minimum standards as set forth by the Minnesota Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training; ten years increasingly responsible experience in police supervision, administration and planning at a permanent rank of Police Sergeant or higher; a valid and unrestricted Class C or D driver’s license. Desired qualifications include a Master’s degree in a related field; experience as a Police Chief; and completion of a professional leadership program such as the FBI Academy, Southern Police Institute, or Northwestern Staff and Command. Knowledge and/or training in the area of emergency management as the Police Chief may serve as the Director of Emergency Management also. Applicants will be required to pass a psychological test, background check and physical exam. Salary range: $79,000 – $104,000, DOQ, plus excellent benefits. City application form required.
