Detroit Lakes Public Utilities is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Utility Billing Supervisor to lead utility billing operations for electric, water, and wastewater services. This position oversees billing cycles, collections, customer service, compliance, reporting, and supervision of utility billing staff. The role works closely with meter readers and utility personnel to ensure accurate billing, timely processing of service orders, and responsive service to the community. Responsibilities include managing all billing and collection functions, processing monthly three-cycle billings, overseeing delinquent accounts and payment plans, maintaining compliance with Minnesota statutes and city ordinances, preparing reports, supporting audits, and managing online billing platforms and document imaging systems. A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred. Municipal utility billing or governmental accounting experience and prior supervisory experience are strongly preferred.
