Coordinate and manage required Environmental Health program trainings for health district. Requires travel throughout all eight counties of the Coastal Health District. Position based in Brunswick but will travel throughout the district.
Starting salary-$58,547.04, based on qualifications
All Coastal Health District, County Health Department employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours-Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive training program for Coastal Health District’s environmental health staff in the following areas: Food, Pools, Tourists Accommodations, Rabies, and Body Art.
-Coordinate/oversee training program for Environmental Health professionals and associated members of the general public in the following areas: ServSafe and Certified Pool Operator.
-Serve as a District Food Standard and coordinate with other standards to ensure district compliance with state food code training requirements.
-Maintain Environmental Health staff certification and training database/spreadsheet to track needs and expirations.
-May assume the responsibilities of county Environmental Health staff who are on leave or in training for an extended length of time and during position vacancies.Min qualifications- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university which included the completion of 27 semester hours (or 40 quarter hours) in laboratory sciences (e.g., chemistry, biology, geology, physics, etc.) AND One year of experience at the lower level PH Envir Compl Specialist 3 (RCP122) or position equivalent
CHD required qualifications-Two years of experience as EHS 3, Current Georgia Certification Level 1 & 2 in On-Site Sewage Management, Completion of Standardization on GA Food Code, Certified Pool Inspector, successful completion of the ICS 300, completion of the Georgia Environmental Health Training class.
Preferred experience and qualifications:
- GEHA/NEHA Registered Environmental Health Specialist
- Experience training Environmental Health Staff
- Servesafe Instructor and/or CPO instructor certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
