Description
Boulder County Community Planning and Permitting Department is seeking to hire an
Hourly Accounting Clerk. The Community Planning & Permitting Department is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Clerk to join our finance team on an hourly, part-time basis. The Accounting Clerk will primarily assist the finance team with data entry, record maintenance, and other clerical tasks. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
This is an
hourly, non-benefited position that will work 15-20 hours per week in a flexible schedule, generally Monday - Friday with at least one day in our physical office required. This position will work
remote and out of
2045 13th St., Boulder, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is
non-exempt (eligible for overtime).
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $25.00 Hourly
Tentative Hiring Timeline
- Phone Screening: Week of March 30th
- First Round Interviews: Week of April 6th

Examples of Duties
- Data Entry: Inputting a variety of financial transactions into our accounting system, Oracle, with accuracy and attention to detail
- Accounts Payable: Matching invoices to purchase orders, processing payments to vendors, and maintaining vendor information
- Record Maintenance: Ensuring accurate and up-to-date maintenance of financial records, including ledgers, spreadsheets, and journals
- Administrative Support: Providing general administrative support to the financial team such as mailings, scanning, and electronic file maintenance
- Performs related work, as required
- May be reassigned during emergency situations

Education & Experience
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of:
- A high school diploma, or equivalent
AND
- 1 (one) year of experience in clerical accounting or bookkeeping
