Tuesdays 3:30-8:00 pm
Thursdays 3:30-8:00 pm
Must be 16 years of age or older to qualify for this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Shelving books and other library materials.
- Making sure shelves are in order (“shelf reading”).
- Moving materials to different areas of the library.
- Refilling copy machine paper, scratch paper, and pencils.
- Assisting library staff as needed with tasks, including making photocopies and setting up displays.
- Tidying areas of the library, including tables and children’s play equipment.
- Attending and participating in staff meetings.
- Checking and responding to staff email.
- Dusting.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIUMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation and Experience- High school student.
- Experience in customer service; and public library experience is preferred.
Technical Skills- Must be able to alphabetize and put numbers in order, including decimals.
- Must be able to use a computer, the Internet, email, and word processing.
- Must be able to read, alphabetize, and communicate both verbally and in writing in the English language.
- Must be able to take instruction and direction from a number of different people.
- Must be willing to ask questions.
- Must be able to work independently.
SUPERVISION RECEIVEDWorks under the direct supervision of the Children's Librarian and the general direction of the Library Director.
