The City of Geneva is seeking a part-time Utility Billing Specialist to join our dedicated Finance Department. In this role, you will play an important part in serving our community by ensuring utility bills are accurately issued and processed, assisting residents and property owners with questions, and researching and resolving billing or account issues.

Including but not limited to:
- Prepare all utility bills for the City of Geneva customers.
- Collect, enter and analyze various types of data from software systems and spreadsheets.
- Review utility data (such as meter reads), check for abnormalities in usage and conduct further research to identify issues accordingly.
- Facilitate a resolution to issues by collaborating with the City's Public Works Department.
- Review and apply first notice late fees to customer accounts when warranted.
- Update monthly reports pertaining to capital assets and grants receivable.
- Provide exceptional customer service to walk-in customers or over-the-phone/email, whether it is regarding bill payment, account set up, changes in address, etc., or general questions and call forwarding.
- Assist the Finance Department team with other tasks as necessary.
Qualified candidates will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with three years of experience in either finance, administration, utility billing, accounts payable, or accounts receivable, or customer service.
Other combinations of education and experience that provide the skills necessary to perform the essential functions of the job may be considered. This is a part-time position that is estimated to work about 18 hours per week. The set schedule is flexible based on the selected candidate's availability, but hours must be worked in-office during our Finance Department's general operating hours, which are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
