The City of St. Cloud City is looking to hire a Facilities Finance Specialist. Under the direction of the Finance Department, this position provides financial, business and policy support for the City’s River’s Edge Convention Center and the Municipal Athletic Complex. Responsibilities include financial management and reporting, revenue and expenditure tracking, fee standardization, contract and policy development, and providing data-driven analysis to support these facility managers in their decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support contract management activities, including rental and sponsorship agreements, vendor analysis, and financial review of service contracts.
- Collaborate with facilities management on financial planning for capital improvements, deferred maintenance, construction projects, operational costs, and annual budgeting; assist with Advisory Board coordination.
- Develop and maintain financial management processes and reporting systems across facilities and programs.
- Prepare monthly and annual profit and loss statements, revenue/expense forecasts, and cost allocation models.
- Track facility usage trends, customer performance metrics, and survey data to inform decision-making.
- Ensure integration and accuracy between facility financial systems, point-of-sale platforms, and City finance software.
- Partner with other Finance Department staff to maintain compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Analyze financial and operational performance, present insights and recommendations to managers and city leadership.
- Assist in annual budget development, monitoring, and variance analysis for facility operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve cost recovery, pricing strategies, operational efficiency, and customer service.
- Contribute to long-term financial planning and evaluate industry trends to support sustainable growth.
- Lead development and standardization of fee structures, including rentals, programs, events, and ancillary revenue streams.
- Establish and review policies for discounts, waivers, and negotiated rates.
- Evaluate systems and workflows; recommend and implement process improvements and train staff on financial procedures.
- Performs other work as required and assigned.

Schedule: The work hours for this position generally are 8:00 - 4:30 p.m., and may be subject to after hours, evenings and weekends.

Qualifications: 2-year post-secondary degree in Accounting or related field; three years' experience in accounting; and a valid Minnesota-issued driver’s license that is unrestricted except for corrective lenses, or able to obtain one by appointment.
