Here's a Summary Of Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Senior Vice President, Chief of Finance will shape the future of the USOPC’s financial operations, including the planning, development, and execution of financial strategy, accounting practices, and reporting processes.
As a strategic thought leader and partner, the SVP will advise and inform the CEO and executive leadership on accounting and regulatory guidelines as well as financial and business strategies. The SVP will be a key member of the USOPC leadership team, fostering an outstanding level of innovation and direction to the Finance department and indirectly for all functions of the USOPC.
The SVP will be the vanguard of advancing systemic organizational change and delivering results to take the USOPC to the next level in all operational and strategic business practices.
This role also serves as the executive steward of the USOPC’s fiscal control environment and enterprise risk management (ERM) framework, ensuring robust internal controls, proactive risk identification, and organization‑wide risk mitigation strategies.

USOPC Leadership
- Strengthens the USOPC’s mission and values by building and leading a high performing, finance organization strategically focused on sustainable, long-term organizational and ecosystem health.
- Provide a, diverse perspective and financial stewardship to guide strategic actions, inform critical decisions, drive priorities, and lead organizational change.
- Act as a key leader in shaping and reinforcing our culture by living our core values through championing diversity, equity, inclusivity and access across the organization and ecosystem.
- Represent the USOPC as an externally facing ambassador at meetings and events with prospective and current sponsors, donors, and other external stakeholders. Present to external stakeholder groups such as NGBs, LA28, and other affiliated organizations.
- Periodically present to the USOPC Board of Directors and affiliated committees to provide updates and progress of strategic objectives, challenges, and opportunities.
- Provide collaborative partnership at various levels to develop cross functional, strategic business planning processes.
- Manage critical business issues and oversee a cross-functional strategic business planning processes including the budget, applying thought leadership and innovative problem solving to address key operating and business challenges.
- Hire, mentor, support, coach, motivate, and develop teams to build and sustain a high performing finance function , maximizing collective performance through clear expectations, frequent communication, and consistent feedback.
Finance Leadership
- Lead the development of the USOPC’s budget and forecasts that align with annual, quadrennial, and strategic plans. Provide leadership in the development of the continuous evaluation of short- and long-term strategic financial objectives. Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities for the organization.
- Provide financial leadership and strategic oversight to an evolving commercial rights division, including developing robust financial models, risk evaluation of new business opportunities, structuring sponsorship agreements, and monitoring key KPIs to ensure alignment with overall company financial goals.
- Lead the team to ensure effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
- Serve as treasurer of the USOPF, protecting USOPF financial assets and leading on all phases of financial management, while consulting closely with the USOPF ED and the USOPC CEO on trends and developing issues that may impact USOPF financial health.

- Partner with Internal Audit, Legal, and Operations to ensure audit readiness, timely remediation of findings, and continuous improvement of the control environment.
- Lead the development, execution, and maturation of the USOPC’s enterprise risk management (ERM) program, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation planning, monitoring, and reporting to executive leadership and the Board ensuring full integration into USOPC operational practices.
- Lead other projects as required and other duties as assigned.
Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or related field
- MBA degree preferred
- CPA strongly preferred
- 15+ years of corporate accounting/finance experience with at least 5 years at the Controller level or higher
- Experience in Fundraising and Not-for-profit accounting and fiscal management
- Successful supervision and management experience
- Demonstrated experience in all facets of accounting and treasury functions, excellent reporting skills, and experience in securing credit
- Extensive experience overseeing financial aspects of sports marketing operations.
- Demonstrated leadership in developing and managing internal control environments, including control design, testing, monitoring, and remediation.
- Proven experience leading or contributing to enterprise risk management programs, including risk assessment, mitigation planning, and cross‑functional risk governance
- Proven leadership skills and ability to guide and direct the activities of large teams in dynamic environments and assure high levels of team performance
- Strong communication, leadership, and management skills, high personal ethical standards, and demonstrated capability to be hands-on and make difficult and timely decisions
- Strong expertise in forecasting and analysis, development, and utilization of management information and key business metric tools
- Analytical skills including financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting
- Strategic thinker with excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Excellent management and supervisory skills with a broad knowledge of financial business practices
- Ability to communicate complex information to executives
- Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to gain buy-in across multiple disciplines and drive execution
- Proven ability to manage a large variety of complex issues and projects calmly and simultaneously, effectively navigating in ambiguous situations and highly complex environments

Here's Some More Information You Need To Know
- Hiring pay range $240,000 - $270,000 per year.
- This Full-Time, Exempt position is intended to work 40 hours per week.
- Bonus: This position will be eligible for the Annual Incentive Award Program, which has a 25% target. The USOPC may change or eliminate this program at any time at its sole discretion.
