Responsibilities - What you’ll do
This position is in the Planning and Grants Unit in the Research, Planning, and Process Improvement Section
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and tracking of strategic initiatives, and grants projects, including coordinating tasks and reporting project progress.
- Review and analyze processes and operational practices to identify inefficiencies or opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare clear, concise written summaries, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations document processes and standard operating procedures
- Maintain organized records and documentation; ensure timely and accurate tracking of grant funds
- Collaborate with divisional subject matter experts to gather accurate program information, clarify requirements, and ensure planning materials reflect current practices.
- Provides administrative support to the Research, Planning, and Process Improvement Section including scheduling meetings, producing minutes, meeting room set-up and supplies management
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - All you need for success
Minimum Qualifications:
Four or more years of experience in analysis, program or policy development, facilitation and coordination duties, budget/fiscal management, or probation and parole case management, corrections case management, or clerical experience at the level of Lead Administrative Support Assistant or above, or experience closely related to the above listed responsibilities.
(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience, at a rate of 30 credit hours for one year)
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
Advanced experience with use of Microsoft Suite, specifically in Excel.

Contingent upon your position, you may also be eligible to receive:
- A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center).
- A $0.75 per hour maximum security stipend if you work full-time at a qualifying facility.
- A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing stipend if you are assigned a regular post within a restrict housing/segregation unit at any facility.
The Department of Corrections currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years!
