SUMMARY
The Building Custodian is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the Convention Center, and providing assistance with other maintenance related tasks as needed.
The Building Custodian must be able to work rotating shifts, including but not limited to evenings, weekends and holidays.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Participates in the layout and set-up of Convention Center events and activities.
•Cleans floors, to include mopping, scrubbing, buffing & vacuuming.
•Cleans bathrooms, to include sinks, toilets, stalls, floors, walls, mirrors, and empties trash receptacles.
•Washes windows and scrubs walls.
•Moves furniture.
•Loads and unloads supplies.
•Cleans trash cans, stairs and office space.
•Notifies supervisor concerning needs for repairs to Convention Center building, equipment, and/or inventory.
•Performs all duties in a safe manner.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school or GED preferred
- Or up to one-month related experience or training
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to pass all required alcohol/drug tests
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to work rotating shifts, including but not limited to evenings, weekends and holidays.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to read, write and discern written instructions.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
