Exempt; full time; 40 hours per week; Monday–Friday; varied schedule during the business hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with frequent variable hours including evening and weekends; partial teleworking schedule may be available in accordance with Division policies; full-benefitsWe’re seeking an Equity and Inclusion Coordinator to support key initiatives within the Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI) and help drive the work of two County Commissions—the Equity and Inclusion Commission and the Immigrant Affairs Commission.
In this role, you’ll build strong internal and external partnerships that advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging across County government and the broader community. You will lead the development and implementation of equity-focused programs, manage communications and outreach efforts, and provide strategic guidance on inclusive practices.

NOTE: The upper pay range reflects possible wage rates for internal County transfers and promotions, which are calculated per County policy.

- Work with the Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer (CEIO) to formalize and implement DEIB strategic goals and activities
- Plan, coordinate, direct and implement activities which improve access to County services, resources and opportunities for the advancement of diverse constituents
- Assist the leadership of each Commission supported by the OEI
- Work with the Administrative Coordinator of Boards and Commissions to conduct recruitment and appointment process of new commissions members; develop and conduct orientation and training sessions for Commission members
- Provide administrative and logistical support to the Equity and Inclusion Commission, Commissions for Women, and the Immigrant Affairs Commission
- Organize and manage the marketing, development, and execution of employee resource groups
- Provide leadership in developing, organizing, and advancing DEIB initiatives, under the direction of the Officer CEIO
- Assist the CEIO in organizing and preparing information and materials for meetings and projects
- Participate incoalition-building activities that address the needs and interests of diverse populations of employees and constituents
- Develop and deliver educational programs that elevate the cultural competencies of Frederick County Government employees and the general
- Develop and produce analytical reports as requested by CEIO
- Monitor OEI performance measures by tracking and analyzing the effectiveness of strategies and programs against metrics; use data to make recommendations on goals and objectives
- Research and gather information on best practices and emerging trends that assist in analyzing and assessing the County’s DEIB policies, procedures and programs
- Manage special projects assigned by the CEIO
- Identify civic and social engagement opportunities that support established goals
- Utilize social media to communicate information provided by the CEIO
- Research and monitor trends at county, state and national levels that impact diverse constituents; identify trends and best practices to increase diversity in the workplace
- Engage with the Communications Office, under the supervision of the CEIO, in managing the content of the DEIB webpage and intranet page
- Represent the CE’s office and OEI at various county events; speak to various public and private groups on issues of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging
- Handle constituent inquiries
- Assist with the development of each Commission’s annual report
- Develop, as necessary, additional resources for commission related activities
- Attend meetings, trainings and other OEI and Commission events
- Perform other related duties as required

PREFERENCE MAY BE GIVEN FOR:- Experience managing communication and correspondence with diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders
- Experience designing and delivering DEIBA+ programs, including facilitating training sessions, workshops, or presentations that enhance cultural competency and inclusive practices
- Experience supporting or implementing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) initiatives or programs within an organization or community setting
- Secondary written and spoken language skills (Spanish, ASL or other)
