Role Description
This role leads Planning and Development Services, overseeing all administrative functions while driving the City’s economic and physical development initiatives. The Director builds and maintains strong relationships with business and industry leaders, developers, and regional economic development partners to support strategic growth. The Director also develops, implements, and evaluates programs aligned with City goals, manages the department’s budget, and serves as a key advisor to the City Administrator and City Council, providing recommendations on planning, development, and policy matters—many of which have citywide impact.
Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree in Geography or Urban Studies with continuing education in areas of planning and zoning.
• Five or more years of management experience in economic development, planning and zoning.
• Knowledge of government structure and practices, Civil Engineering practices, and physical planning, zoning and subdivision practices.
• Experience in creating economic development strategies preferred.
