Job Responsibilities
Rich in Native American history, Edisto Beach on Edisto Island is one of four oceanfront state parks in South Carolina.
Edisto Beach State Park features trails for hiking and biking that provide a wonderful tour of the park. The park’s environmental education center is a “green” building with exhibits that highlight the natural history of Edisto Island and the surrounding ACE Basin.
Job Purpose And Duties
Assists with park administrative duties in accordance with Department guidelines and procedures and planning of long and short-term goals. Collects and accounts for revenue and produces required reports. Instructs, supervises and performs routine and preventative maintenance on grounds, buildings and equipment. Manages assigned specific operations to include public use areas, retail operations and facilities. Performs law enforcement activities within his/her authority and established policy. Maintains a safe work environment. Assists in control of inventories of equipment, supplies and retail items by issue, use and counts; completes data reports. Interprets the cultural and natural resources of the State Park Service to park visitors.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
Associate's degree in Park Management or a related field.
Additional Requirements
Position requires medium to heavy lifting, walking and standing on uneven terrain, crawling and working at heights. Exposure to weather conditions, cleaning agents and other materials used in maintaining park facilities and grounds. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid South Carolina Driver's License.

Actual Job Location: Edisto Beach State Park
40 hour/week rotating schedule including weekends and holidays.
