Role Description The Director of Community Economic Development is a full-time, on-site position based in Beaver Falls, PA. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing community and economic development strategies. This role will focus on developing and planning community engagement events. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and managing community engagement projects, preparing and overseeing grant applications, coordinating with local, regional, and state partners, and engaging community stakeholders through meetings, outreach, and public presentations. They will manage social media, marketing and engagement. The Director will analyze economic and demographic data, develop recommendations for City Council, prepare reports and budgets, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and funding requirements. The role also involves supervising or coordinating with staff and consultants, managing program timelines, and monitoring project outcomes to advance the city’s long-term strategic goals. Salary: $50,000.00 plus benefits
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Community Economic Development and Economic Development, including program design, project implementation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Background in Public Administration, including policy development, intergovernmental relations, and public sector management.
- Demonstrated experience with Budgeting, financial management, and grant funding, including tracking expenditures and reporting outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Experience working with local governments, community organizations, and economic development agencies; municipal experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse communities and stakeholder groups.
- Proven project management skills, including setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Proficiency with data analysis, reporting tools, and standard office software; familiarity with GIS or related tools is a plus.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and ethical public service in all community and economic development efforts.
