Office Specialist
FOR THE
Washington County Sheriff's Office
Full-time with benefits / $21.53 an hour
Hours: 4 days, 10-hour, 7am-5pm schedule. Could include holidays, nights and weekends.
Washington County is seeking a professional, detail-oriented, and dependable Office Specialist to provide administrative and clerical support within the Sheriff's Office. This position performs a broad range of office support functions essential to the efficient operation of departmental services, including records management, customer service, financial processing, inmate accounting, property management, visitation coordination, and legal document processing.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible clerical, administrative, office support, or related experience
OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge of general office practices, record keeping, and administrative procedures
- Proficiency with computer systems, data entry, and standard office software applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, agencies, and the public
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments, and work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
Special Requirements
- Must successfully pass an extensive background investigation
- Must meet all eligibility requirements for law enforcement support personnel
- Selected employees may be required to:
- Pass the BCI Proficiency Test
- Obtain and maintain Notary Public certification
