Position Description
The purpose of this grant funded position is to provide leadership for the supervision and coordination of activities related to public health emergency preparedness. Success in the position will ensure development, coordination, and delivery of planning and response measures and continuity of operations within the City and the Health Department.
Work Location
This position may be eligible for flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work with some days working remotely and some days working in the office.
The City of Minneapolis does not sponsor applicants for work visas.
WORKING CONDITIONS Normal office environment; in times of a public health emergency, this position may be exposed to infectious disease, radiation, and working around individuals who are traumatized and in crisis.
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
BA Degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or equivalent
Minimum Experience
A minimum of three years’ experience in the areas of public health, public safety, and project required. In addition, experience managing a major project or grant, and formal supervisory experience are also required.
Licenses/Certifications
FEMA Incident Command Systems 100, 200, 300, and 400 or Minnesota equivalent
Equivalency
An equivalent combination of education and experience closely related to the duties of the position MAY be considered.
