The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Public Information Officer in the Department of Communications. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under general supervision, maintains positive relations between the public and the City, communications with the media, coordinates City events and supports multiple departments in public information activities and outreach, and performs related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate is a strategic storyteller with exemplary writing skills, capable of adapting to a variety of audiences, platforms and objectives. This individual will develop speeches and presentations for City leadership, executive communications, marketing copy and messaging that aligns with the City's brand.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: - Competitive Salary Range of $74,739.95 to $113,961.81 annually; salary placement for non-represented positions is based on a comprehensive compensation review and takes into consideration the candidate's qualifications as well as internal equity*.

- Five (5) years of professional level experience in public relations, marketing, journalism, communications, or a closely related field
- Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered
- Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants check
- Must complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire/transfer and be recertified every year. Must maintain certifications in NCIC/NCJIS as a condition of continued employment
