Under general supervision, is responsible for end-user hardware, software, and application support; troubleshooting, installing, upgrading, and configuring information technology systems; and performing related duties as required.
- Manage and upgrade information technology systems.
- Oversee the deployment of new workstations, phones, and printers.
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of all information technology products.
- Effectively work with technical and non-technical end-users to resolve software and hardware issues.
- Administer and support the latest versions of Windows on workstations and servers.
- Help resolve audio/visual and conference room issues (Zoom, Teams, Webex, etc.).
- Train users on City software and systems.
- Troubleshoot complex issues in person and virtually.
- Updates and maintains City website and hosted applications.
- Monitors the City network for performance and security issues.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:- Two years of experience in information technology or an associate degree in a technical field and one year experience in information technology.
- Valid certification in Cisco or Microsoft can be substituted for education.
QUALIFICATIONS: (* indicates developed after employment).Knowledge of:- Experience in providing first or second-tier information technology technical support
- Track record of learning new technologies and finding solutions via research.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical end-users.
- Considerable knowledge of server maintenance and administration.
- Knowledge of networking principles.
- General knowledge of data base principles; programming languages; and data backup and recovery principles and procedures.
- Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to evaluate the capabilities of hardware and software.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, conflicts, and problems.
- Ability to develop priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work independently or in a team.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, City officials, and information technology vendors.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
