This position works out of the Lenexa Rec Center Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. This position requires the flexibility to work some nights and weekends.
Job Summary
This position performs a variety of administrative, clerical and customer service duties in support of department operations, staff, advisory boards and special events. Responsibilities include processing financial transactions, coordinating travel arrangements, maintaining records and meeting documentation and providing assistance to citizens, vendors and City staff.
Essential Functions, Duties And Responsibilities
- Coordinates travel arrangements for department staff attending conferences, trainings and seminars, including reservations, itineraries and expense reporting.
- Submits purchase orders, processes invoices, prepares check requests and reconciles credit card statements.
- Assists department and City staff with City-sponsored events, including contact with vendors, participants, judges and staff.
- Compiles various reports and materials for department proposals and meetings.
- Primary liaison for the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and works with the Lenexa Arts Council.
- Records and posts meeting agendas and minutes.
- Orders, stocks and maintains office supplies to support daily operations.
- Drives City and/or personal vehicle to perform essential functions of position.
Environmental and Physical Factors
Work is performed in a standard office environment; however, mobility to move about the parks and recreation facilities as needed is required. This position requires the ability to sit for prolonged periods and visual acuity to review information.
Qualifications
Minimum: high school diploma or G.E.D. and 2-3 years of administrative/office experience.
Compensation And Benefits
Range of pay for this position is
$21.37 to $24.77 dependent on qualifications and directly related experience. This is a non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime pay.
