Summary of Duties: Develops, interprets, and implements complex financial and accounting concepts, or techniques for financial planning and control, by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation, research, analysis, coordination, and publishing of the Township’s annual budget and five-year plan.
- Prepare, maintain, and distribute monthly reports, schedules, variance analysis related to operating and capital budgets.
- Monitor capital asset acquisitions, transfers, and dispositions. Maintain depreciation schedules and prepare depreciation journal entries.
- Prepare monthly and annual reports, schedules, and budget variance analysis related to capital projects.
- Prepare monthly general ledger closing entries for capital asset transfers and funding.
- Establish, maintain and provide training to departments on budget and financial reporting systems.
- Develop custom reports at request of departments
- Assist departments in annual budget preparation
- Assist departments in preparation of charts and graphs of performance data.
- Assist in preparing audit work papers.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's Degree (B. A.) in Accounting, Finance or related field from four-year College or university.
Experience: Over three (3) years up to and including five (5) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses and Certifications: Must possess a Texas driver’s license within the first ninety (90) days of employment and meet the driver safety policy requirements.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of Governmental accounting software. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
