COMPENSATION:
Hiring Range: $130,000 - $155,000 (DOQ)
Full Pay Range: $121,996 - $170,795
$650 Vehicle Allowance

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
The Public Works Department includes, water distribution, wastewater collection, streets, drainage, capital improvement projects, engineering/construction management, and facilities maintenance. All of the city streets, signs, water/wastewater utilities, city-wide distribution system, and the storm drainage systems are maintained by 13 public works employees. The department also includes an Engineering & CIP Manager and a Facilities Maintenance division of 5 employees.
INITIAL FOCUS:
Initial priorities for the new Director of Public Works as seen by the City Manager include:
- Become familiar with the City’s water loss/tracking concerns and establish a plan for resolution
- Become familiar with major capital improvement projects that are funded and scheduled; oversee their successful completion, on time and within the budget.
- Establish a planned program of infrastructure maintenance and replacement to prepare the city for the aging of its infrastructure.
- Collaborate across internal departments for best outcomes.
- Build and sustain partnerships with other governmental agencies including, but not limited to neighboring Cities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree, Seven (7) years of related experience in Public Works including three (3) years of supervisory experience, and a positive can-do attitude! Candidates must also possess a valid Texas Class C Driver's License, with a driving record that is in compliance with City policy.
