The North Central Texas Council of Governments is seeking a skilled Geographic InformationAnalystto work with enterprise-scale datasets, advanced spatial analysis tools, and emerging technologies. This position is in the Information and Innovation Services Department, which provides enterprise technology, data, GIS, analytics, application services, and innovative solutions that support NCTCOG programs and regional initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform spatial analysis, geoprocessing, modeling, and data validation
- Use Esri technologies including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online
- Collaborate with project managers, analysts, and subject matter experts to define requirements and deliver GIS-based solutions
- Create, edit, and maintain spatial data within enterprise and file geodatabases
- Perform data editing in a multi-user editing environment while ensuring data integrity and adherence to organizational standards
- Create web maps and apps, reports, datasets, and analytical products that communicate complex information to technical and non-technical audiences
- Participate in data management activities and system administration
- Develop and maintain documentation, metadata, workflows, and analytical methodologies
- Support QA/QC processes to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of GIS data
- Troubleshoot GIS data and workflow issues and identify opportunities for process improvement
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working with enterprise and file geodatabases
- Experience editing and managing versioned GIS data in a multi-user environment
- Strong proficiency with Esri technologies
- Experience performing spatial analysis, geoprocessing, and workflow automation
- Experience using Python or other scripting languages to support GIS workflows
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to document technical processes clearly
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of data management standards and best practices
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn new tools, techniques, and technologies
- Possess a professional, team-oriented approach and commitment to producing high-quality work
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
- Experience administering ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online environments
- Experience developing automated GIS workflows using Python, ArcPy, or ModelBuilder
- Familiarity with emerging GeoAI tools and applications
- Knowledge of metadata standards, data governance, and GIS data management practices
- Experience supporting multidisciplinary teams, enterprise GIS environments, or large-scale GIS initiatives
Required Experience:
At least three years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a scientific or technical field. Candidates with applicable experience and formal education in a non-technical field will be considered. Non-degreed candidates with demonstrated significant, relevant skills and at least 9 years of related experience will also be considered.
Salary:
$59,500 - $71,400, depending on qualifications and experience
