Job Responsibilities
- Building Operations and Maintenance: Regularly inspects facilities throughout our 10-County district to spot repair needs and schedules preventative maintenance (routinely checking equipment to stop problems before they start).
- Vendor & Contract Management: Negotiates and manages contracts with outside companies for services like cleaning, landscaping, security, and waste removal.
- Vehicle/Trailer Maintenance: Oversees vehicle/trailer maintenance, servicing, and repair of district vehicles and trailers.
- Lease Management: Serves as the primary liaison with property lessors to ensure full compliance with all lease terms, coordinate building maintenance responsibilities, and manage timely lease renewals.
- Budgeting and Finance: Forecasts cost and manages the budget for facility repairs, upgrades, and supplies.
- Communicates professionally and effectively across all levels, from delivering live project briefings to leadership to drafting clear email notifications regarding building maintenance.
- Project Management: Manages special projects as it relates to facilities, such as renovations, workspace decommissioning, replacing office furniture (including surplusage furniture or assets a facility no longer uses), and assisting with project set ups.
- Conducts and documents monthly checks on health department generators.
- May perform semi-skilled repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure public health district facilities remain safe, functional, and compliant. Physical Demands:
- Frequently within shift (33-67%): Standing, Walking, Bending/Stooping, Pushing/Pulling, Lift/Carry >50-100 lbs, reaching above shoulder, climbing ladders, and working in cramped or unconditioned spaces.
- Occasionally within shift (1-33%): Working in occupied clinical spaces where professionalism and patient confidentiality are required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of facilities management experience; or three (3) years of experience in facilities or property management.
