The town offers a range of services, including Police, Fire, Building Inspections, Planning and Zoning, Code Enforcement, Public Works and Maintenance, Water, Sewer, and Waste Water Treatment Facilities.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Code Enforcement/Animal Control Officer at the Town of Sullivan's Island. The Officer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to enforcing municipal codes and regulations, as well as those related to animals. This includes investigating and responding to complaints, issuing citations, attending court, conducting inspections, educating the community about regulations, and conducting animal control activities.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of municipal codes and regulations
- Experience in code enforcement and animal control
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle and resolve conflicts
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks related to animal control
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience or training in law enforcement is a plus
