The Board of Directors of the Snohomish County EMS Agency is seeking an experienced, visionary Executive Director to guide one of Washington’s premier regional EMS systems.
SCEMSA coordinates and advances emergency medical services across Snohomish County through regional collaboration, medical direction, protocol management, education, credentialing, and quality management. The Executive Director serves as the agency’s chief executive, providing strategic leadership, fiscal stewardship, organizational management, and partnership-building across fire and EMS agencies, hospitals, public health, and elected officials.
The opportunity
The next Executive Director will build on a strong organizational foundation while helping position SCEMSA for its next stage of development. First-year priorities include:
- Completing a comprehensive organizational assessment
- Strengthening relationships with the Board and regional partners
- Developing a multi-year strategic plan
- Evaluating organizational systems and opportunities for improvement
- Reviewing long-term financial sustainability
- Balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution
What we are looking for
SCEMSA is seeking an accomplished leader who brings:
- Demonstrated strategic and systems thinking
- Knowledge of EMS and pre-hospital healthcare systems
- Experience in public-sector or healthcare administration
- Skill working with governing boards and diverse regional partners
- Strong financial and organizational management
- Exceptional relationship-building and consensus-development abilities
- A bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree is preferred
Compensation and location
The annual salary range is $172,858 to $230,062, depending on qualifications, with a comprehensive benefits package. The position is based in Everett, Washington.
