PAY AND BENEFITS
Annual Pay Range: $52,203.83 - $65,833.47
Hourly Pay Range: $25.097997 - $31.650705
Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on a candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.

JOB DETAILS AND QUALIFICATIONS
The Clackamas County Health Centers Division is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team of health care professionals dedicated to the physical and mental well-being of students at our four School Based Health Centers (SBHCs) & four primary care clinics. School Based Health Centers (SBHCs) are located within the Oregon City School District at Oregon City High School; North Clackamas School District at Rex Putnam High School in Milwaukie, Clackamas High School and Adrienne C. Nelson High School in Happy Valley. This is a year-round position and when schools are closed during breaks this position will work at the primary care clinics located in Oregon City, Clackamas, Sandy, and Gladstone.
Join our team as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in Clackamas County's School-Based Health Centers (SBHCs) and primary care clinics. Our SBHCs, located within schools, are staffed by a multidisciplinary team focused on preventing illness and promoting healthy behaviors among students. In our primary care clinics, CMAs provide routine medical assistance and administrative support to healthcare providers, emphasizing individualized patient care. We pride ourselves on using the latest medical practices to ensure comprehensive health and wellness. Our interdisciplinary team offers primary care, behavioral health, dental, and pharmacy services under one roof, delivering high-quality healthcare to the residents of Clackamas County. Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
• Current certification/registration as a Medical Assistant by a nationally recognized program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate
• Experience with an electronic record-keeping system
Preferred Special Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
• Experience as a Certified Medical Assistant working in a clinical setting
• Experience working in pediatrics and/or a school-based health clinic
• Experience with phlebotomy
• Experience with administering vaccinations

TYPICAL TASKS
Patient and Laboratory Preparation:
• Greet and room patients, record vital signs, and prepare for lab procedures.
• Maintain exam rooms and labs with necessary supplies and equipment.
• Assist providers with routine tasks and maintain effective patient flow.
Laboratory Tasks:
• Provide instructions for specimen collection, process and transport specimens.
• Perform diagnostic tests, record results in the EHR, and participate in quality control.
• Administer immunizations, injections, medications, and draw blood under physician supervision.
• Clean and sterilize equipment, and maintain supplies in lab areas.
• Use ultrasonic cleaner and autoclave properly.
Medical Office Tasks:
• Handle patient reception, check-in, telephone calls, data entry, referrals, and release forms.
• Schedule appointments and assist with provider referrals.
• Prepare reports for grant obligations and clinic analyses.
• Perform miscellaneous office tasks using copiers, faxes, scanners, and computers.
• Collect fees and follow cash handling procedures.
• Assist with inventory control of vaccines, medications, supplies, and equipment.
• Train and orient new staff and students.
Medical Records Management:
• Maintain confidential and HIPAA-compliant patient records.
• Enter and update patient information in the EHR.
• Prepare and file lab slips and required forms.

WORK SCHEDULE
This position works 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Friday. The regular work week during the school year (when school is in session) will be 40 hours per week from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
Work locations: this is a floating position that will work at all SBHC site locations. School Based Health Centers (SBHCs) are located within the Oregon City School District at Oregon City High School; North Clackamas School District at Rex Putnam High School in Milwaukie, Clackamas High School and Adrienne C. Nelson High School in Happy Valley. When schools are closed this position will work at the primary care clinics located in Beavercreek, Sunnyside, Sandy, and Gladstone.
Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended. This position is designated as on-site/in-person. It is expected that the selected candidate will perform duties at the specified on-site work location.
