Hourly Pay Range: $35.206634 - $44.682746*
Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on a candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.
*The listed hourly rate is calculated at 80% of the regular annual salary. The remaining 20% is banked as earned and paid during the summer months when school is closed. Employees are paid biweekly over 52 weeks at these rates in order to receive pay and maintain benefits during the summer recess when not working.
Although considered Part-Time (.80 FTE/32 hours), this position is eligible for Full-Time benefits and represented by the Employees' Association. Health Plan Options: Employees are eligible to start most benefits the first of the month following date of hire, including medical & dental.

Note: Per Article 12, section (L), Employees will accrue unlimited sick leave at the rate of six and four-tenths (6.4) hours per month. Employee will not accrue vacation leave or floating holidays nor be entitled to any other paid leave. Employees will not be allowed any vacation time other than what is part of the school schedule.

JOB DETAILS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Clackamas County's Health Centers Division is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our four School-Based Health Centers. School Based Health Centers (SBHCs) are located within the Oregon City School District at Oregon City High School; North Clackamas School District at Rex Putnam High School in Milwaukie, Clackamas High School and Adrienne C. Nelson High School in Happy Valley.
In this role, you will provide comprehensive clinical health services aimed at preventing disease, promoting health, and encouraging self-care among pediatric patients. You will utilize your professional judgment in conducting comprehensive assessments, screenings, nursing diagnoses, care planning, counseling, interventions, case management, health education, referrals, and evaluations. This position operates under the standing orders of the Pediatric Medical Director and adheres to the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse.
Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
License to practice as a registered professional nurse in the State of Oregon.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
Preferred Special Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
Experience working in out-patient setting
Experience working independently from standing orders
Experience with provision of reproductive healthcare services
Experience working in a School-based Health Center

TYPICAL TASKS
Clinical Tasks include but are not limited to:
Maintains infection control practices per organizational policy.
Assists with emergency supplies and collaborates with school health personnel.
Supports Youth Advisory Councils and attends school events as directed.
Provides backup for patient reception, check-in, and appointment scheduling.
Performs case management functions and runs reports for clinic operations.
Works independently from standing orders to provider acute and reproductive health care to patients.
Additional tasks:
Ensures compliance with pharmacy policies, including medication ordering and inventory management.
Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with school RNs, health secretaries, counselors, and other staff.
Develops presentation materials for various health topics and conducts group presentations.
Attends H3S, SBHC All-staff, site meetings, and other assigned meetings as required.
Other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Thorough knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures of nursing applied to health practice, including preventative medicine, sanitation, and community health.
Expertise in nursing services in school health, home care, and continuity of patient care.
Proficiency in managing communicable diseases, chronic diseases, mental illness, and disabling conditions.
Understanding of sociological, psychological, and physical aspects of public health nursing, including mental health principles.
Working knowledge of community resources for public health programs and social services.
Familiarity with current trends in professional nursing practice and office equipment usage.
Skills in implementing nursing activities, analyzing situations, and establishing effective relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, prepare clear records and reports.
Capacity to recognize and address social problems affecting health, and provide high quality nursing care.
Capability to plan, coordinate, supervise care activities, and provide health education and instruction.
Proficient in operating computer software and office equipment.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position works 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Friday. The regular work week during the school year (when school is in session) will be 40 hours per week from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
Work location: this is a floating position that will work at all SBHC site locations. School Based Health Centers (SBHCs) are located within the Oregon City School District at Oregon City High School; North Clackamas School District at Rex Putnam High School in Milwaukie, Clackamas High School and Adrienne C. Nelson High School in Happy Valley.
Employees will not be expected to report to work when the school is closed for holidays, winter and/or spring breaks, or during summer recess.
Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended. This position is designated as on-site/in-person. It is expected that the selected candidate will perform duties at the specified on-site work location.
