The Zoning Specialist plays a critical role in promoting orderly development in Nicollet County by developing, administering, and enforcing our zoning ordinance. Responsibilities include reviewing maps, zoning permit requests, and job sites. This position also interprets zoning policies, practices, and regulations for members of the public and other department staff.

In order to be considered for this position, we require a bachelor’s degree in urban or regional planning or a related field and 2 years of planning experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position. A valid driver’s license is required.
