PRIMARY DUTY:
Perform highly responsible administrative and technical work, including managing, securing, analyzing, designing, testing, evaluating, and troubleshooting server, network, Public Safety technology, Microwave Radio, and system support functions on the technology ecosystem, including planned and emergency maintenance; performance and security analysis; and monitoring, tuning and implementing new products and procedures. Plan, implement, oversee, and maintain server, network, and security infrastructure projects. Analyzes emerging technology and recommends constant improvements to network and server infrastructure services and capabilities. Serves as next-level support for other support technicians.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- Minimum of six years of successful experience with designing, specifying, installing, and supporting local and wide area computer networks, security operations, and server management.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college, university, or technical school with an emphasis in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Work experience and familiarity with purchasing procedures of local governments are desired.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
- Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License with a good driving record.
- MCSE or CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Server+ certifications or ability to obtain within 6 months from the hire date.
- ITIL Foundations Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months from hire date
- CompTIA Security+ or similar certification within 1 year from hire date
