Department of Parks and Recreation, Park Maintenance and Recreation Services Division is looking for a
Grounds Keeper-Truck Driver to care for, maintain, and beautify parks, playgrounds, and other landscaped areas in the Kaneohe area.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Operating a 3/4 ton truck to haul rubbish bags, transport equipment, supplies, materials, etc.
- Cleaning campgrounds, picnic, and landscaped areas.
- Operating push lawn mowers to complete trimming of grassed areas.
Special Working Conditions: May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Will serve as a Disaster Response Worker during declared emergencies.

Applicable training and experience must have demonstrated:
- Knowledge of the operation and capabilities of and the ability to operate a light truck skillfully and safely;
- Knowledge of general maintenance practices for motorized equipment;
- Knowledge of the laws, ordinances, rules and regulations governing the operation of motor vehicles on streets and highways and the ability to understand and follow traffic laws and rules;
- Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions applicable to operation of a truck;
- Ability to learn to care for and maintain lawns and landscaped areas;
- Ability to learn to operate hand and power equipment and tools used in grounds maintenance;
- Ability to make minor emergency repairs to truck and recognize mechanical and operational defects in equipment;
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions;
- Ability to learn pertinent rules and regulations and enforce them with tact and courtesy;
- Ability to handle weights and loads.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:Possess and maintain a valid driver's license (Type 3/automobile).
