Summary: The Assistant Program Manager (APM) of Workforce Development will support the LAEDC Strategic Initiatives Department by managing workforce development programs and engaging community stakeholders in industry cluster development initiatives. Key responsibilities include organizing and managing meetings and events, community-driven forums, work-based learning opportunities, and other projects. You will play a crucial role in aligning our E3 strategy: engage, empower, and elevate, adapting to new workforce development projects as the program evolves. Additionally, you will ensure that our 5-pillar strategy-which encompasses research, industry cluster development, business assistance , international trade, and workforce development-is properly integrated. Duties: Assist in managing and achieving programmatic deliverables. Maintain accurate records of program activities, participant progress, and outcomes to track program success and compliance with funding requirements , including CRM system input
- Coordinate outreach efforts to engage potential program participants, community organizations, and employers to foster partnerships and enhance program effectiveness. Assist in organizing and conducting workshops, seminars, and training sessions, both in-person and online, to deliver workforce development content to program participants , including assistance in meeting logistics
- Assist in cultivating internships and jobs, coordinating career readiness workshops, recruiting students, facilitating and tracking job placements, developing partnerships between community colleges and employers, developing pre and post surveys, developing work-based learning opportunities, and performance management. Provide administrative support to the Program Manager in budget management, grant applications, and reporting. Assist in updating and maintaining the virtual career platforms with relevant content and provide user assistance as necessary. In partnership with the Strategic Engagement team, collect, curate, and develop content, copy, metrics, and images for use on the website and social media
- Collaborate effectively with staff, industry council members, educational partners, industry stakeholders, and others in order to analyze and evaluate the competencies, skills, and other data across various occupations. Work with firms from targeted industries to assist educational institutions with curriculum development and adapting to the needs of the industry to create a competitive and regional talent pipeline. Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly program and performance reports. Responsible for additional duties and departmental projects as assigned. I dentify businesses undergoing downsizing or closure, strategically engaging with affected workers, empowering them with essential resources, and elevating their potential through comprehensive support services aligned with our evolving E3 strategy: engage, empower, elevate. - Work Environment: This position will operate in a hybrid schedule. The employee will base work from the DTLA office 40% of the work week and additional time as needed with the option to work remotely on the remaining time.
