The current schedule for this position consists of 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday (option to work a 9/80 schedule with a set day off every other week).
Summary
Under supervision of Code Enforcement Manager, the Neighborhood Improvement Officer is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to assist in beautifying the city on primarily its arterial and collector roads. The successful candidate may utilize grant funding to assist with projects and will manage funding. The successful candidate collaborates with a wide range of partners to create and implement action plans that support the mission and goals of our organization.

Essential Duties
- Implement programs to improve aesthetics of the city, particularly visible from arterial and collector roads
- Monitor progress of aesthetic initiatives within the records management system and be able to accurately document and report these findings
- Monitor and conduct compliance follow-up on Conditional Use Permits and Temporary Use Permits
- Coordinates activities with other city departments and personnel
- Maintains accurate logs and reports within the records management system
- Provides educational information to citizens through handouts, presentations, and in one-on-one conversations
- Attends training and information meetings concerning community programs
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: Four years of customer service experience dealing with conflict resolution and handling customer complaints, oral presentations, and report writing. Two years of prior Code Enforcement, Land Use, Planning, Grant Management or related experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work in a standard office environment which includes reaching, bending, sitting, standing, talking, hearing, and listening. Ability to travel to different sites and locations. Ability to handle extreme pressure and fatigue due to daily exposure to almost always stressful situations. Must be able to lift and carry 30lbs for 25 yards.
