We are looking for a creative and energetic individual to join our team. The Recreation Programs Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the City's recreation programs for children and adults, and providing a variety of administrative support functions to the Recreation Division of Parks & Public Works. The recreation division is responsible for planning and facilitating community events such as Made in Southern Oregon, Movies in the Parks, 4th of July celebration, Community Christmas Lights Parade, community recreation programs, park rentals, and more. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS : EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: An Associate's degree in recreation, physical education, youth, adult or senior development, graphic arts, or related field; and, At least two (2) years of related experience in recreation, graphic arts, grant writing, or related. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience determined to ensure the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the work is acceptable. DRIVER'S LICENSE: Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record at the time of hire required and must be maintained as a condition of continued employment. AVAILABILITY : This position often requires work hours outside of regular business hours which may include weekends, evenings, holidays, and special events. From April through October, 50% of work hours will be during the weekend or evening. Required event attendance includes 4th of July, Made in Southern Oregon, Easter Eggstravaganza and Community Christmas Lights Parade. And may include attendance at other events and classes such as Movies in the Park, recreation programs, and other community events. Salary: $4,018 - $5,385 per month - Hourly equivalent $23.18 - $31.07 DOE. Incentive Pay Available : Up to $450 per month for additional Certification, Education or Bilingual ability. Based on current collective bargaining agreement and eligibility.
