Under general direction, this position assists the Water Utility Management team with the development, implementation, and execution of the Water Utility maintenance program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Organizes and directs the operation and maintenance of the computerized work management system to meet business needs and long-range strategic planning.
- Plan and implement asset life cycle, specifications, and preventative maintenance strategy.
- Responsible for the preparation of asset management plans, including the creation of asset lists and hierarchies, and identifying asset inventory and condition.
- Provides training and technical guidance in asset management software, principles, and decision-making processes; assists department leadership in business process documentation and improvement.
- Performs projects related to public drinking water and wastewater systems, including analyzing and evaluating data, researching alternatives, and providing recommendations and information pertaining to programs and projects to management.
- Works with internal and external individuals to secure resources and execute programs.
- Develops, Updates, and Maintains the Operations and Maintenance Library.
- Incorporates changes required by incident review, regulatory change, or efficiency improvement projects into existing programs and processes.
- Review current maintenance policies and procedures to optimize maintenance program effectiveness; develop improvements to decrease asset downtime.
- Create, optimize, and validate asset PM’s and PM frequencies
- Conduct Failure Analysis on critical assets and equipment to eliminate root cause(s) of failure and develop improvements to prevent future occurrences
- Develops standard operating procedures for tasks related to the water utility systems.
- Interprets and reviews compliance with applicable policies and procedures, including compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances.
- Audits program records to ensure compliance with program directives.
- Conducts QA/QC function for programs and processes
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, training, and Experience Guidelines:
High school diploma or equivalent. Plus five (5) years of experience with industrial maintenance or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Preferred:
Five (5) years of full-time experience in the operations and maintenance of a water distribution and/or wastewater collection system.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with Infor or similar Enterprise Asset Management or Work Management software.
- Industrial maintenance requirements for pumps, valves, and a variety of controls.
- Comprehension of ISO 55000 standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Best management practices for water and wastewater utilities.
- Determining needs and gathering, analyzing, and presenting data to provide accurate information
- Understanding written and oral instructions.
- Developing written procedures or other directions for programs and processes.
- Quickly recognize irregularities in data.
- Reading and comprehending operation and safety manuals signs, maps, office memos, labels, blueprints

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Valid Class "C" Texas driver’s license
Preferred Licensure:
Class C Water Treatment/Distribution and Class II Wastewater Collection or Class C Wastewater Treatment License.

Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, crouching, bending, vision, hearing, talking. Works outdoors in hot, cold, and/or wet weather, exposure to noise and vibration from machinery, toxic chemicals and gases, work in confined spaces (trenches, manholes), work with contaminants in wastewater, work with electrical voltages up to 480V.
Hiring Range: $32.97 - $41.31, hourly.
