Do you have experience in traffic operations? In this role, you perform technical work by implementing and conducting utility locates for Traffic Engineering and Operations utilities in rights-of-ways. Come and apply today to see your direct impact on the community.
- Receive, review, and respond to incoming requests for utility locates pertaining to Traffic Operations.
- Use the county-supplied database (Cartegraph) to create tickets and work orders.
- Record travel time to include departure time/date and arrival time/date.
- Record and annotate utility locate for traffic signals, street lighting, circuits, fiber optic, etc.
- Actively communicate with contractors through different forms of communication.
- Take photos of the area where locates are performed to document evidence of the locate with the date and time performed.
- Record data collections for each locate in the cable locater and record data to a network drive.
- Notify 811 of locates.
- Assist with traffic studies, and counts, and prepare special reports and requests.
- Utilize the Utilisphere database to manage tickets from 811 properly.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- Three (3) years or more of experience in the related field.
- -OR- College or university-level training in an appropriate field may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required related experience.
- Valid Florida Driver's License at the time of hire.
- Ability to obtain Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) within one (1) year from the time of hire.
Physical Demands: may occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.

Starting Pay Range: $21.63 - $22.50, based on experience
