We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Civil Engineer I/II in the Engineering Division. This position is responsible to assist with the planning, designing, construction, and maintenance of the City's public infrastructure and capital improvement projects and to assist with project management under the supervision of the City Engineer.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Civil Engineer I (Grade P)
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or other related engineering or science field relevant to the position.
- Two (2) years of work experience in civil engineering plan review, engineering design, or closely related experience. Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record for eligibility of City coverage.
- Completion of FE Exam preferred, but not required.
- Work experience within a municipal or public works/public utilities department preferred.
Civil Engineer II (Grade Q)
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or other related engineering or science field relevant to the position.
- Five (5) years of work experience in civil engineering plan review, engineering design, or closely related experience. Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Must be a Registered Professional Engineering in the State of Illinois, or able to obtain within 6 months
- Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record for eligibility of City coverage.
- Work experience within a municipal or public works/public utilities department preferred.
Salary & Benefits
The starting salary for Engineer I, a full-time/exempt role will be commensurate with experience, with a salary range of $81,139.03 - $113,588.80 (Grade P). Engineer applicants with a P.E. and five (5) years of relevant experience will be considered for the higher graded position of Civil Engineer II (Grade Q). Additionally, an excellent benefits package is provided including, but not limited to, group health insurance and IMRF pension.
