Job Purpose And Objectives
Performs the day-to-day management of the Facilities Department. This position is typically responsible for managing, supervising, and overseeing maintenance and repair work on all county buildings, equipment, and fixtures. The duties of this position include managing third-party vendors and contractors related to facility maintenance. The director is responsible for the formulation and submittal of a yearly budget for the department and a strategic 5-year facilities improvement plan for the County. The department oversees centralized purchasing.

Position Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Purchasing, inventory, or procurement experience preferred.
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience.
- Must have 5 years direct experience in facility management, maintenance or construction/building trades.
- Shall be a US citizen or Non-US citizen that must be able to perform the work in or for the United States.
- Shall be at least 18 years of age.
- Shall be screened for a record of criminal activity and criminal history using a named-based record check before employment is offered or before job duties are assigned that might expose them to KCJIS-sensitive information.
- Shall be screened for a record of criminal activity and criminal history using a fingerprint-based check within 30 days after initial employment or assignment and before unconditional employment is offered.
Certifications / Licenses
- Must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license.
