The City Manager's Office is seeking an individual who has experience, compassion, and commitment to social work and providing resources and referrals to Irvine residents seeking assistance with finding child care, financial assistance, and parenting support.

There is one Extended Part-Time vacancy with a schedule requirement of 32 hours per week.
Your Impact
- Provide resources and referrals to Irvine residents seeking assistance with finding child care, financial assistance, and parenting support.
- Communicate professionally and clearly over the phone and in writing via email when providing information on programs and services.
- Conduct research on child care, financial assistance, parenting, early care, and education services and resource availability and eligibility.
- Participate in collaborative networking to increase awareness of community programs and services.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with service providers, staff, and supervisors.
- Provide clerical support to the Child Care Coordination Office including board and committee support, word processing, mailings, spreadsheets, and room reservations.
- Prepare and maintain various records and reports.
- Prepare information on professional development opportunities, parent education opportunities, resources, and information to be posted on the City's website.
- Review Child Care Coordination webpages consistently including all posted resources, information, and links to ensure accuracy and "best fit".
- Provide technical support to individuals and businesses interested in opening a child care business.
- Assist Child Resource Center lending library patrons with memberships, selection of and checking in/out lending library materials.
- Prepare new materials for entry into the Lending Library, and enter electronic materials records in library software.
Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of college or university-level work in social work, psychology, child development, or a related field and three years of related experience, or any combination that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.

- Strong organizational skills and follow-through on assignments that require attention to detail and established procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, experience with preparing documents, detailed record/statistic keeping, conducting resources and surveys, and preparing summary reports.

The City Manager's Office assists the Irvine City Council in the development of policies, goals, and objectives, as well as the implementation of decisions established by the City Council. The department oversees the activities and operations of the City including legislative support, policy implementation, budget development, strategic planning, economic development, elections, communication services, and the legal service functions of the City.
