Job Summary: This is professional surveying and mapping work.
Job duties include:
· Manages surveying and mapping projects using District staff and consulting firms. Certifies survey maps and reports as required by State of Florida.
· Manages surveying and mapping programs, such as the vertical leveling program and the global positioning systems (GPS) program.
· Provides professional surveying and mapping expertise to District staff, governmental agencies and consulting firms for District projects.
· Provides technical training and implements improvement ideas for section.
· Provides other duties as assigned including, but not limited to: serving as an expert witness, attending and/or presenting at professional and organizational training sessions or workshops.
Skilled In: Advanced computer hardware and software applications and programs including Autodesk Civil3D, ESRI ArcMAP, GPS post processing software, and Microsoft Office.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or surveying and mapping,
registration by the State of Florida as a Professional Surveyor and Mapper.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
Sitting at computer station for an extended period, and outside surveying and mapping work activities.
Endure harsh outdoor environments in uncomfortable/extreme temperatures, inclement weather, and remote locations; lift and/or move equipment; operate or learn to operate vehicles/vessels to access sites (e.g. ATV, airboats, marsh masters, and four-wheel drive truck).
Expectations: Maintain a priority of safety, communicate and work well with others as a team, make effective, consistent, and defensible decisions in the field.
Licenses:
Valid State of Florida Driver’s License.
Additional Details:
Starting Salary Range: $60,112.00 - $75,129.60
Starting salary is based on qualifications and experience.
