Minimum Qualifications
The Manager IV Performs highly complex managerial work
administering the daily operations and activities of an agency program.
Work involves establishing goals and objectives; developing guidelines,
policies, and procedures; developing schedules, priorities, and
standards for achieving established goals; coordinating and
evaluating program activities; developing and evaluating budget
requests; monitoring budget expenditures; and supervising the work of
others. Works under limited supervision with moderate latitude for the
use of initiative and independent judgment.
YOU QUALIFY WITH
A bachelor's degree and nine (9) years of full-time, wage-earning
law enforcement experience, Supervision of incarcerated inmates,
Parolees, or probationers or experience in a criminal justice program
which includes duties such as setting goals, developing methods to
meet goals, monitoring progress, evaluating results, and authorizing
changes to program policies and procedures, and independently
making decisions and solving problems related to the program. Three
- years in a supervisory role required. Additional
experience can be substituted for the bachelor's degree.
YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations
relevant to the program areas and principles and practices of
public administration and management.
- Knowledge of agency and departmental organizational structure,
policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Proven ability in the use of computers and related equipment in a
stand-alone or local network environment.
- Knowledge of the overall operation of correctional facilities
with the ability to interpret and apply rules, regulations,
policies, and procedures.
- Experience directing the development and evaluation of agency
policies and procedures.
- Ability to successfully communicate ideas and instructions
clearly and concisely, and ability to coordinate with other
staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and
the public.
- Ability to assemble, organize, correlate, and analyze data
with the knowledge of critical care methods, techniques,
practices, and procedures.
- Ability to address the public.
- The salary for an ERS Retiree (or non-contributing member) will
be 2.5% less.**
