Job Summary
The Loudoun County Department of General Services is seeking qualified applicants for a Systems Maintenance Crew Chief vacancy within the Facilities Support Division, working in one of the following specific areas: Public Safety, Parks & Recreation, Facilities Security, Safety & Surveillance, Libraries, Specialty Units & Emergency Power, Preventive Maintenance, or General Government.
This position will be a working supervisor over multiple crews in operating, maintaining, and repairing various facility systems, devices, and equipment in County occupied buildings, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and emergency power.
Duties include, but are not limited to: safely performing advanced, complex mechanical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of emergency power systems (generators, UPS, and related devices), HVAC, building automation, and other systems, devices, and equipment; reviewing work orders, establishing priorities, making daily work assignments to technicians, and scheduling preventive maintenance work; coordinating the work of contractors as needed; conducting periodic mechanical systems inspections; performing administrative duties to include submission of all purchase documentation according to County and departmental guidelines; and providing superior customer service at all times.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent with coursework or experience in MEP (mechanical/electrical/plumbing) trades, commercial mechanical systems, vehicle maintenance, landscaping, heavy equipment, construction, and/or earthwork, depending on assigned area; four (4) years of related work experience which includes at least two (2) years of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prefer certification in Building Automation Systems. Prefer prior experience implementing and overseeing a Preventive Maintenance Program.
Job Contingencies and Special Requirements
• A valid driver’s license and good driving record is required.
• Hold or obtain a CFC License and Master's License (in Mechanical, Electrical, and/or plumbing disciplines) within six (6) months of hire.
• Subject to recall and/or being held beyond scheduled workday if required by County or departmental requirements.
• Respond to County emergencies (24/7) as directed in accordance with Department policy and written or verbal directive.
• This position is considered essential.
