The Bureau Chief of Fleet Management/Warehouse plays a critical role in ensuring safe and reliable access to County assets. You will oversee the maintenance of County vehicles, power equipment, and warehouse inventory. We are looking for a leader to identify and solve complex problems, evaluating issues to identify needed changes. You will manage the day-to-day activities of employees engaged in repairing and maintaining motor vehicles and managing central warehousing operations.
Essential Duties
- Manage procedures and policies to improve efficiency and ensure sound fleet management and central warehousing practices.
- Oversee all warehouse operations, including materials handling, inventory control, and shipping/receiving.
- Work with end users to develop specifications for new vehicles, equipment and materials.
- Develop goals to direct programs, integrating input from staff. Support and develop leaders to promote integrity, ethics, and the effectiveness of programs.
- Own the budgets for the Bureau. Resolve issues by recommending reallocation of resources when necessary.
- Maintain transparent communication to support flow of information.
- Encourage collaboration and support team members work and development through mentorship. Build and maintain a welcoming workplace.
- Ensure operational standards set by Federal, State, and local laws are met. Promote use of legal counsel to ensure department policies, procedures, and practices follow applicable Carroll County ordinances.

You Might Be a Good Fit If
Education and Experience
- Trade school or technical training in related field
- Seven or more years of related experience
- Five or more years of supervisory experience or demonstrated ability to perform supervisory duties.
- A comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirement.
