The Facilities Supervisor maintains the facilities and grounds of County facilities, buildings, and building components by overseeing and completing construction and maintenance projects, performing semi-skilled manual labor, and operating power tools and equipment. Additional duties include assigning work and managing the facilities staff.
Hiring range is $59,497 to $74,371 and will commensurate with experience.
These duties and responsibilities are not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the County.- Performs construction and maintenance functions related to the area of assignment.
- Supervises crew by training employees, observing employees, providing daily task lists, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and ensuring maintenance of equipment.
- Oversees and assists facility maintenance and repairs and monitors the condition of buildings, structures, and recommends them for replacement as needed.
- Utilizes a variety of hand and power tools in order to perform a wide array of construction, maintenance and repair tasks associated with County facilities and grounds.
- Performs administrative duties such as utilizing a computer to research and complete projects, typing, copying, and faxing materials as needed, updating files and work logs, responding to inquiries in person, over the phone, or via email, planning for future maintenance needs, and making recommendations for construction projects and purchases
- Performs inspections, preventative and routine maintenance, and basic repairs on facilities, grounds, tools, and equipment.
- Selects, purchases, and maintains the inventory of Facilities department equipment and supplies.
- Manages staff by scheduling, disciplining, conducting performance evaluations, and providing input in recruiting, hiring, and promoting.
- Ensures compliance with OSHA safety standards by researching standards, conducting safety meetings, maintaining the appropriate documentation, and reporting issues to the Facilities Director.
- Monitors the use and return of maintenance equipment, reporting damages and losses to the Facilities Director.
- Assists skilled trade workers, contractor, vendors and/or operators as needed.
- Cleans facilities, grounds, courts, walkways, and project sites to include picking up trash, clearing debris, and moving refuse to appropriate areas.
- Installs equipment when necessary.
- Performs construction and repair work in certain areas by operating heavy equipment such as backhoes and tractors and building and repairing irrigation systems.
- Assists with special events by transporting and installing equipment, supplies, and signage.

Education & Experience:Associate degree in project management, construction, or a closely related field and two (2) years of progressively responsible management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.Computer Skills: Prior computer skills experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
