BASIC FUNCTIONS:
In a learner capacity, under the supervision of the Deputy Secretary, the Principal Consultant, and the Operation Specialist, the Intern will have the perform general office duties including, supporting Senate Offices, reflective of a customer service mindset with Senate Operations.

DUTIES:
The Intern would be assigned tasks and assignments of a varying degree to support and fulfill the various requests of Senate Offices and other Senate partners which include member offices and support staff working in Sacramento and throughout the state.

The Intern will be responsible to learn how to use various computer programs and office processes, as well as expected to support Operations staff in learning to manage, organize and execute various Senate requests and everyday administrative functions.

The Intern will have the opportunity to work on special projects that would directly compliment both the needs and the goals of Senate offices.

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Ideal candidates must have strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. The following are desired qualities and abilities:

Comfortable working with the public and speaking over the phone;
Organized and able to deliver high quality work by deadlines;
A strong desire to learn about office processes and the Legislature.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Enrollment at a college or university is required.

LOCATION, BENEFITS, SALARY AND FILING DATE:
This position is located in Sacramento, CA.
Salary is $20 per hour.
*This is a temporary position.
