The County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner is recruiting for the position of Senior Forensics Assistant.

What You’ll Do:

Supervise, train, and evaluate Forensic Technicians while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Oversee autopsy support, evidence collection, identification procedures, imaging, photography, and facility readiness.
Perform complex forensic examinations, including specimen collection, evidence preservation, radiography, photography, and post-autopsy procedures.
Prepare case records, evidence logs, reports, and provide information or testimony to law enforcement, agencies, and court officials.

Requirements:

One year of related forensics experience including: photographing decedents and specimens; assisting pathologists with complex autopsies using a variety of techniques to preserve medico-legal evidence; preparing decedents for autopsy examination and final disposition; receiving, identifying, and releasing decedents; and performing other forensic technician duties as required.
