Job Summary: The Learning Support Liaison will play a critical role in enhancing student learning experiences by serving as a bridge between students, educators, support services, and our parents and guardians. This position is designed to promote inclusive learning environments, facilitate access to resources, and ensure that all students receive the necessary support to succeed academically, behaviorally, and in maintaining consistent attendance.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Support:
○ Serve as the primary point of contact for students seeking learning, behavioral, and attendance support.
○ Conduct assessments to identify students’ learning, behavioral, and attendance needs; recommend appropriate resources and interventions.
○ Provide guidance in developing individualized learning, behavior, and attendance improvement plans.
Collaboration:
○ Work closely with teachers, counselors, and special education staff to implement strategies that support diverse learners and address attendance challenges.
○ Coordinate with external organizations and community resources to enhance academic, behavioral, and attendance support.
Resource Management:
○ Maintain an up-to-date inventory of learning, behavioral, and attendance resources and materials.
○ Organize workshops and training sessions to educate staff and students about attendance strategies and available support services.
Data Tracking and Reporting:
○ Monitor student progress in academic, behavioral, and attendance areas, tracking the effectiveness of support interventions. (SWIS Data)
○ Prepare reports on student outcomes, attendance trends, and program effectiveness for stakeholders.
Advocacy and Awareness:
○ Advocate for the needs of students requiring learning, behavioral, and attendance support within the school community.
○ Promote awareness of the importance of attendance and its connection to academic success among staff and students.
Behavioral Support and Intervention:
○ Implement and monitor Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and other behavioral management frameworks to encourage attendance.
○ Provide crisis intervention support and guidance to staff on handling attendance-related challenges.
Attendance Monitoring:
○ Develop and implement strategies to improve student attendance, including tracking attendance patterns and addressing chronic absenteeism.
○ Collaborate with families to promote consistent school attendance and provide resources for overcoming barriers to attendance.
Professional Development:
○ Offer training and professional development to educators on best practices in supporting diverse learners, managing classroom behaviors, and promoting attendance.
○ Stay informed about current trends and research in behavioral and attendance support.
Qualifications:
● High School Diploma and related field work experience in this area
● Must have acquired one or more of the following:
o Associate’s degree or higher;
o 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits from an accredited college or university;
o Have passed the Washington State Para Educator Assessment Test with a minimum score of 455; or
o Completed a registered Washington State paraeducator training program: Pearson Assessment with a minimum score of 220; or The Master Teacher Para Online Training with a passing score of 65%
● Previous experience in educational support and a related role focused on attendance or behavioral intervention.
● Strong understanding of learning differences, disabilities, and effective attendance management strategies.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

· Empathy and sensitivity to the needs of diverse learners, especially those facing attendance issues.
Other Requirements:
● Employee must pass fingerprint screening conducted by the Washington State Patrol and the FBI.
Working Conditions:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following conditions:
o May require occasional evening or weekend hours for events and workshops.
o Work primarily in a school setting with interactions across various departments.
o Significant: walking, standing, sitting, lifting, being outside in weather
o Frequent: kneeling, looking at computer monitor, writing
