Job Announcement
The Marketing & Tourism Officer will be responsible for communicating the City of Alvin's story and promoting and overseeing the day-to day marketing operations of the Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB). The City recognizes the value of citizen engagement that includes a proactive approach. The Marketing & Tourism Officer is responsible for media relations, special projects, oversight of content on the city website and oversight of the city's social media platforms. The office curates and crafts content about various departments, employees, programs, and initiatives within the organization and works collaboratively with community partners. This position reports to the Communications Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration, tourism, hospitality, or related field with at least two years of relevant experience in said field. Any combination of experience and education which provide the applicant with the level of required knowledge and abilities will be considered. Excellent written, oral, presentation, and verbal communication skills. Must possess a valid state driver's license.
The Marketing & Tourism Officer is classified as an "Emergency Essential" position as described in the City of Alvin's Personnel Policy Manual. These employees may be required to remain or respond in the event of emergency conditions and be available immediately before (Pre-Impact), during (Emergency Period), and/or after the disaster or emergency condition (Post Impact/Recovery), to perform duties directly related to the emergency conditions as determined by the City.
Salary
Hourly rate of $27.90
