Job Summary:
Responsible to assist in the daily cleaning, maintenance, repair, and inspection of the District's wastewater facilities and related infrastructure. Assists in a variety of scheduled duties related to the care, upkeep, maintenance, and/or repair of the District's wastewater facilities and related infrastructure as assigned by the Division Supervisor and/or Director. Communicates effectively with Division Supervisor and Director in providing recommendations for needed maintenance and repairs. Responsible for assisting staff in promoting the District's mission through safe collection of sanitary sewer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assists in the maintenance, inspections and repairs of all pumps, valves, generators, piping, or any appurtenances and other infrastructure related to the District's wastewater facilities with general guidance.
2. Provide troubleshooting/testing and/or repair of various District wastewater infrastructure such as: Force mains, pumping equipment, monitoring equipment, and other related appurtenances.
3. Keeps timely and accurate records of daily inspections, maintenance, and repairs on Cityworks.
4. May be required to assist with other maintenance activities including buildings, landscaping, equipment, valves, or the water system.
5. Actively take part in the Operations On-Call program. Must be able to respond after hours, as needed, to help with emergency situations and repairs.
General Qualification Requirements

Prior Work Experience: At least two years of job-related prior experience. Additional technical training in electrical, mechanical, and plumbing preferred.
Education and Training: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Licenses, Certifications, Etc.:
- Valid Utah Commercial Driver's License: Class B with Tanker and Air Brake Endorsement preferred.
- Utah Wastewater Collections Grade IV certification required.
Without the years of experience and certification/licensure - can be filled at one level lower.

- Specific vision abilities include: Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more and 20 inches or less. Ability to adjust eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
- Must be able to tolerate noise levels from moderate to very loud
- Challenging working conditions within wastewater facilities. Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Frequent exposure to moderate noise, airborne particles, oils, toxic or caustic chemicals, vibration, wet or humid conditions, near moving mechanical parts, near street traffic or confined spaces.
