The City of Morro Bay is pleased to announce we are currently recruiting for an Engineering Internship position!
This is a part-time, temporary position with 15 to 24 working hours per week.
About the Position
Under the supervision of the City Engineer, the Engineering Intern will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the preparation of Construction Plans and Specifications
- Assisting in the construction oversight and inspection of Public Works and Encroachment permit projects
- Map and data development and maintenance
- Technical and operational support
- Inspections
- Special projects, as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Enrollment or recent graduation in a college or university with major course work in Civil,
- Agricultural, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent (junior, senior or graduate students preferred)
- Candidates holding a valid California driver's license are strongly preferred
Desired Skills and Interests
- AutoCAD
- Interpreting plans
- GIS programs
- Written and verbal communication
- Public service; interest in learning about local, public processes for project implementation
